Your first appointment is an initial consultation. During this time, you and I may discuss what brings you to therapy, and I’ll work with you to help you clarify your needs. Sometimes several initial appointments are needed to make a full assessment and develop a treatment plan. Please be aware that usual fees apply to the initial consultation.
At times, more than one appointment is needed before it’s clear how to proceed. By the end of initial consultation period, you and I can discuss how to proceed. Typically at this time, clients and I have a sense about whether or not it’s a good fit to work together. If either of us decides not to work together, I’m glad to offer referrals that may better match your needs.
Many prospective clients have questions regarding insurance, fees, scheduling, and other administrative matters prior to the first appointment. Many of these questions can be answered on the Frequently Asked Questions page.
